Vespa People meet the future at Sant'Anna School BioRobotics Institute
The celebration agenda for the 70 years of Vespa includes the guided tour of the BioRobotics Institute of Sant'Anna School for Advanced Studies, scheduled for Saturday, April 23rd, beginning at 11.00 am. The BioRobotics Institute is one of the six institutes of Sant'Anna School for Advanced Studies which has just placed among the 10 best young universities in the world in the international ranking by "Times Higher Education World University Ranking".
The BioRobotics Institute directed by Paolo Dario has contributed to the consolidation of Sant'Anna School scientific reputation, reaching 25 years of world-class positions in robotics and bioengineering research. Professors, researchers and doctoral students of BioRobotics Institute defy the boundaries of science and engineering biorobotics along Rinaldo Piaggio street in Pontedera, where Vespa is manufactured, where modernity and progress are combined with culture and tradition. But Vespa and the Institute of BioRobotics have also an additional link: Vespa former factory, skillfully renovated by Piaggio, is now the Polo Sant'Anna Valdera headquarters.
The event, scheduled for Saturday, April 23rd, is dedicated to all "Vespa riders" and to Vespa enthusiasts of all ages. Angela Pirri, vice mayor of Pontedera, appointed as a delegate to innovation and technology transfer, will welcome the visitors. Calogero Oddo, researcher at Sant’Anna School working closely with Piaggio, will present the BioRobotics Institute research areas and their current achievements.
